History

Tequila Fortaleza is a return to the origins of tequila. Founded by Guillermo Erickson Sauza, the great-great-grandson of the legendary Don Cenobio Sauza, the company is dedicated to preserving artisanal production methods. At their historic distillery in Tequila, Jalisco, every step of the process is traditional: the agave is slow-cooked in brick ovens, crushed with a "tahona" (a volcanic stone wheel), fermented in wooden vats, and double-distilled in small copper pot stills. This commitment to tradition produces a tequila of unmatched quality and character.
